Christmas!

Hi Karina!
How are you? Today is Christmas eve and I want to wish you and your family a happy Christmas and a happy New Year 2012! :) Are you doing anything special for Christmas or New Years? Have you made any Christmas cookies? You like to cook and bake, right? Are you happy that you are out of school on break? I sure am! :) When do you go back to school? I go back January 3rd.

Have a great Christmas and a Happy New Year!
~Molly :)

Late, Oops...

Hey Molly. Sorry I haven't posted. I forgot to keep checking the blog. Oops! I'm sorry to hear about your Grandma. It's quite alright that you also forgot to post. We can just post whenever, I suppose.

School isn't that bad lately. I just have a paper to write for next week. (Yuck) I hope you had a lovely Thanksgiving. My family did not go anywhere this year (we usually don't). It's hard to, when my father has a bad back. It's ok though, because my cousin came from Chicago and it was nice. He works at a movie theater chain, so he managed to get my family free tickets to see Hugo. It was so cute! Have you seen it? I definitely recommend it.

I can't believe that November is almost over! Finals are coming up soon and I have to start getting my Christmas presents in order. Lately I've been knitting a lot,* so I'm going to make my father a hat for winter. I hope it turns out okay. The last time I made him a hat it was too small. Are you excited for Christmas/winter break from school? I know I am! I'm sorry again that this was so late. I hope to hear from you soon!

Hi Karina!
How are you? First off, I am awfully sorry for not writing to you these past weeks. My Grandma has passed away. She went to be with God and all her loved ones that went before her. I miss her, but I know that she is in a good, happy, safe place. I hope you understand.

How is school? Is it hard? Did you have a great 17th birthday? Do you feel older? Now you can watch R rated movies. ;) Are you excited for Thanksgiving? What do you do for Thanksgiving? My family comes to our house where we eat a lot of yummy food that my Mom makes. YUM! My favorite is especially the turkey, olives, cranberries, mashed potatoes with gravy, cauliflower, and grape juice! What is your favorite Thanksgiving foods?

I hope to talk to you soon, Karina!
Have a good day!
Love,
Molly :)

High School, Birthdays, and Halloween Costumes!

Hey Molly! I think you're right about the last time we've seen each other. That would have been in 2008. Three years ago. =(

I totally understand about schoolwork. Just yesterday I had to study for three hard quizzes and a long worksheet to do, and I had to work. I always heard that junior year is the hardest, but now I actually understand. Do you have a block schedule? This year I'm taking Physics, English, US History, gym (bleh), Precalculus, and Spanish. I'm not particularly happy about any of those classes. I'm more excited about the classes I will be taking next year.

Oh, my birthday was two days ago, but I don't feel any older. I can now legally watch rated R movies, though. Not that I will (most likely.) Yeah, I can drive now (with a guardian in the car.) To be honest I hated it for the first year. That's why it's taking me so long to get my license. I hope you like it. It's better that way. That's cool that you're going to be a ladybug for Halloween! I'm going to be a different thing for two different days. On Saturday, my friend is having a Harry Potter party, so I'm going as one of the characters. On actual Halloween, I'm going as a dark faerie. It's my favorite costume. I wore it two years already, but I just love it so much. Maybe I'll post a picture of it! Oh, you should post a picture of you in your costume! That would be cool (but you don't have to, of course.) I remember the old parties! Those were so fun! I remember you being a ghost one year and Emily being a beanie baby. I think I was a rag doll.

I hope your family also has fun on Halloween! I'll talk to you soon!

Hi! I think the last I did see you was when I came to Chicago for vacation to visit you. That was fun! Did you remember the horse racing rink? I like watching that. I am sorry I haven't posted anything lately... I have been busy with school. I have a hard schedule this quarter. I have Chemistry, American Literature, Christian Morality, and Algebra II. What classes do you have currently, Karina?
Are you excited for your 17th Birthday, Karina? WOW! Your old. :) Can you drive? I haven't started to drive yet... I am nervous.. but I plan on receiving my temporary over Christmas break. What are you going to be for Halloween? I am going to be a ladybug. My carpool friends, that I ride to school with, are coming over Monday to go trick or treating with me. It will be fun. I always remember that your birthday is around Halloween. You used to have Halloween parties at your apartment. I liked them. I miss them. Do you?
I hope you and your family have a wonderful Halloween and enjoy yourselves. Talk to you soon, Karina! :)

Hello

Hey Molly! I haven't heard from you in a while, so I thought I'd just get us started with this. I don't think I've seen you in several years. I can't remember- was it in 2008 when you came to see me, or did I go visit you again after? I'm not sure, but it's certainly been a while. I thought we could start by reintroducing ourselves! That way, we can re-get to know each other. I'll go first, then:

Well, my name is Karina.* I'm currently enrolled in a public high school. I recently got a job as a page in a library, which basically means that I shelve books and do other odd jobs.** I still love to read and try to do it as much as possible and I like to take pictures. I'm on my high school's flags team, book club, and math team. I don't have my driver's license yet, but hopefully I'll get it soon. My closest friends from where I live now are called Erin and Megan.*** My favorite book is Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. My favorite movies are Pride and Prejudice and the Lord of the Rings movies. I don't have a favorite song or favorite musician, so maybe for each post I'll give you a link to a good song.

I'm not sure what other favorites to put, so I'll leave it there. Anyway, I'm so excited! I'm going to a fall festival in a couple hours and it should be really fun! It's at an equestrian center and one of my friends is going to perform a dance with a horse! It's so cool! Also, tomorrow I'm going to go take pictures at this really pretty forest, early in the morning, with my sister. We went the past few days and it's so fun. The last time we went we even got to see a hawk. It was just sitting on a sign maybe five feet away. It was so relaxed and only flew away when a school bus drove by. Here are a couple of pictures from that.

I hope to hear from you soon! I know this wasn't supposed to be my day, but I figured we can just get our first posts out and then worry about our "days" later. Just post when you can. =)
~Karina~

* -You should already know my name, but since we're "introducing" ourselves, I thought it fit in nicely.
**-Like, for instance, my library has two turtles and it's my job to change their water. They are so dang cute!
***-Molly, you talked to her once, over the phone. =)
